High School Counselor – C.D.
I was sure there was nothing else to try. My sister said Academic Link could help. Honestly, I called just to please her. I had no idea I would see such results. I was amazed! Not only did my child pass his finals; but also, now has a willingness to learn. He has regained his self esteem. We now have time to enjoy each other without arguing about schoolwork. Jan Link, and her super staff, couldn’t have tried harder to support our needs. Jan even went to R.H.S. with me to meet with the teachers. She knows how to ask the right questions to get started in the right direction. I am so thankful to see my son try harder and want to succeed. Thank you Academic Link.

Before I got help from Academic Link I was feeling very frustrated and overwhelmed with my failing grades. Then Jan Link and my team of tutors at Academic Link helped me study and prepare for my tests while supporting me and making me feel good about myself. I ended up getting B’s on most of my finals and was able to pass my classes. I thought I was hopeless and I was always going to be “dumb”. Now, I know I am smart and I can get B’s. Now, I am shooting for A’s.

My husband and I are very pleased with the phenomenal progress that Katie has made coming to Academic Link. Before coming to see Jan at Academic Link, Katie was resisting all tests and had lost her confidence in her ability to succeed. Academic Link, with their experience in teaching and an individualized caring attitude, has given Katie both her confidence back and a skill set to succeed on her upcoming test. As an added bonus, she always has a smile on her face when she is working with the tutors and no longer resists her homework at home – thanks! It was one of the best academic decisions we have made for our daughter.

Before we started at the Academic Link, our son would roll his eyes and look deflated anytime a writing assignment was presented. Now, he has learned the skills and techniques needed to get his writing assignments done, and done well in a fraction of the time it use to take. What’s even more important is the confidence he has gained. He now knows he has what it takes to be a good writer. His confidence shows in his schoolwork and in his attitude. Even our daughter noticed the change in her brother. We have been so pleased with his results we were more than happy to get her started taking classes at the Academic Link as well. We are so thankful we found the Academic Link.

Flexibility and creativity are two key means by which Academic Link helps children obtain educational success. Sometimes a program of improving overall study or writing skills is what my son needs. Other times class monitoring has been necessary. Whatever it takes, Jan is constantly reevaluating and determining fresh approaches to help my son. She has been an invaluable resource for our family and I look forward to continue working with her in the years to come.

On the first day of school I knew that my daughter would definitely need assistance with the math program she would be using throughout the school year. Thankfully, Academic Link provided the most amazing high school math teacher that helped my daughter complete the year with an “A” in math and she loved going to the center.

“I wanted to update you on Jason’s progress. He took the SAT in June. I encouraged him to use the method of SAT study you suggested…Thanks to your suggestion and his implementing it on a regular basis, he was able to get an SAT score of 2020 on his first try. We both really appreciate your help with that. Jason is currently taking two AP classes and is getting A’s so far. He will be applying for UW soon and plans to pursue an undergraduate degree in a science-related field…I am certain that as long as he stays on the PATH, he will reach all his educational and career goals. Both Jason and I thank you very much for all the information and support you have provided since he joined the PATH program in 2010.”

“I wanted to get the word to you that Jordyn will be signing her National Letter of Intent to Colorado State on November 18th after school in the Library…I really believe that the many PSAT’s that she took and the accountability that you provided helped her to do well on her SATs and in the classroom. As you know, she would have never been given a college scholarship for basketball if her schoolwork and SAT scores weren’t up to standard. It took a village of great people coming alongside her to help her achieve her goal. I can’t thank you enough for the support you gave to me. I dreaded our phone calls when Jordyn was in middle school struggling with D’s. Now, I see the work we all did to encourage Jordyn to do her very best and I think she knows that she can apply many of these skills in college and in life.”
